This is my second time to summit Mount Datuk. The first time I think was back in 2008. Mount Datuk is located at Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. About 884m high. From Melaka to Rembau takes about 30 to 45 minutes only. In this trip, there were 5 of us i.e. Myself, Azmir, Bob, Mayo and Norcha. Our last hiking perhaps was Bukit Tabur and Bukit Broga. So, our stamina this time is quite questionable. We chose to hike Mt. Datuk since it is quite near from Melaka plus we can do it in a day trip.
Before climbing, we need to register first and pay RM3 per person. The following pictures describe our trip this time.

Resting before going down, the weather was so fine that day
On the whole, the trip was so fun although all of us were struggling a bit due to lack of stamina. We took about 1 and half hour to go up and about 1 hour to get down.
Conclusion and advice:
1. Mt Datuk is suitable to test your stamina. The steep climbing all the way to the top really tests your stamina and perseverance.
2. Daytrip is better although you can also camp at the top but the space might be limited. If you are unlucky, there might be hundreds of people climbing on the same day. It can cause traffic jam especially at the ladder to climb to the peak.
3. Bring your drinking water. No water source at the top.
4. Do some training and exercise as preparation. DOn't underestimate Mt. Datuk. Although it's only 884m, it can make you suffer. All of us end up having pain on our leg joints especially on our knee and calf due to lack of training and stretching.
5. Climbing the ladder to get to the top might be dangerous if you're not careful as the ladder is very steep.
