Happy Fasting to all Muslim Brothers.
Last July, from 9th -12th, Underestimate team went for its last trip before Ramadhan to Kuching, Sarawak. There were 10 of us i.e. Azmir, Dilla, Ongah, Bob, Nadia, Cha, Mayo, Nadia, Tuty and me. One of its mission is to conquer the legendary Mt. Santubong (2658ft or 810.2m). Once again we have underestimated this mountain. Eventhough the mountain is not too high but the level of its difficulty and risk is very high.
Besides hiking some of our activities in Kuching were as follows:
Le Tour de Kuching
Makan2!
Makan2!
Makan lagi!
Dayang Salhah Kek Lapis
Boat to cross the river
Seafood at Top Spot
Muzium Kuching
Dinner with friends
We began our hiking quite early in the morning of 11th July 2011. We had our breakfast first along the way. We didn't bring too much ration because we only plan to do daypack hiking and not going to cook up there. SO just bring some drinking water and some chocolate or bread for energy. There are a few routes that we can follow but be careful not to take the jungle trekking route as it will lead you back to where you started. We took the route from Bukit Puteri. The following photos describe the chronology of the hiking.
Map to the summit
Just before hiking
Easy trek in the beginning
Nice view just after a few minutes of climbing
In term of signages, you don't have to worry bcoz there are lotz of them right to the summit
After 45mins hiking...took a rest
Starts climbing using rope
